Denmark promises to exert maximum pressure on Hungary, which is blocking Ukraine's entry into the EU
Denmark, during its presidency of the EU Council, has promised to exert "maximum pressure" on Hungary in an attempt to resume the accession process of Ukraine blocked by Budapest.
As reported by "European Pravda", this was stated by the Danish Minister for European Affairs of Denmark, Marie Bjerre, quoted by Euractiv.
The Danish minister emphasized: "We will exert maximum pressure on Hungary to lift its reservations."
"And we are ready to do everything possible, both at the political and practical level, to move forward in relations with Ukraine, as well as with Moldova and the Western Balkan countries," she said.
Bjerre emphasized that Copenhagen is "working on finding solutions" for Hungary, which will include an additional hearing under the Article 7 procedure, which, if adopted, will deprive Hungary of its right to vote in the EU due to "serious" violations of EU principles.
